Spirit Ridge Vineyard Resort & Spa

I met a couple who said “We chose Spirit Ridge in Osoyoos as our wedding venue because we wanted to be somewhere unique in the world on our wedding day.”

This really sums things up in a nutshell. Go a step further and I’d say, as a wedding photographer, that I’d choose Spirit Ridge because I can make unique pictures here any time of the year. It is one of many gems of the beautiful South Okanagan.

Set between the rocky bluffs of Anarchist Mountain and Osoyoos Lake, this amazing golf & vineyard oasis is indeed in a class of its own. Wedding ceremonies usually take place on the “Desert Rooftop Patio” atop Desert Suites Building. The patio on balmy summer nights sets the mood for romantic reception photography under lantern light. From the patio, Osoyoos Lake expands as far as the eye can see – southwards past the U.S. border and northward towards Throne Mountain plopped down in the middle of Canada’s only desert.

Photography in and around the Spirit Ridge resort can make one’s head spin – in a good way! There are so many incredible desert textures, features, secret places to take wedding couples. Within eyesight of the resort, you can stroll along secluded beaches or take an aromatic walk through the sagebrush. I was artist in residence at the Osoyoos Museum in the early 2000 and discovered many amazing spots in the area that, as your photographer, I would love to take you to!

Spirit Ridge can be found at NK’MIP Resort – adjacent to NK’MIP Cellars, Sonora Dunes Golf Course and NK’MIP Desert Cultural Centre. The Passa Tempo Patio is one of two venues for receptions at NK’MIP, along with the convention centre which can seat 250 guests.
