Summerland Waterfront Resort & Spa

Nestled in the heart of British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley is the beautiful town of Summerland – a hidden gem with a distinct Old English theme. Head down towards Okanagan Lake to an area the locals call “Lower Town” and you’ll find it’s newest and most inspiring addition – Summerland Waterfront Resort. This is a place that will give you the full Okanagan wedding experience! I am honored to be one of their few preferred wedding photographers.

Your wedding can be set on the beach or on the shaded yard with plenty of seating potential for over 100 people. Guests can even view your wedding ceremony from their balconies or perhaps a certain photographer might go for a similar “aerial view” – a unique perspective as your day unfolds.

Indoors, Summerland Waterfront Resort features a ballroom / reception area with capacity for about 120 guests. You’ll be able to eat, drink & dance with a lake view! Beyond Wrapture Day Spa and Local Lounge & Grille restaurant are right there for some added pampering and delightful dining.

Outdoors, the resort boasts a high regard for the local environment and has kept the shoreline wetland intact for birds and other wildlife. A stroll along the boardwalk through this mini oasis is truly uplifting and romantic. This little piece of Okanagan paradise allows for solitude and privacy – a nice place for some portrait photography – a brief reprieve away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Penticton residents go there for a vacation and it is only 20 minutes away!

Venture out onto the large dock for a completely different perspective of Okanagan Lake. This might even be a fun place to jump in during a Trash the Dress photography session! Or you might rent a powerboat or hire your own personal wakeboard instructor. Why not go the mile and take to the wake in your tux! I’d love to photograph some Big Air on Okanagan Lake!

As an Okanagan “local”, I view Summerland Waterfront Resort as more of an “experience” than a place. You and your entire family can have fun here on your wedding day! Not only that, you’ll want to return for your anniversary, a family reunion, in which case, I’d love to be your photographer again!
