Winery weddings in the Okanagan are often a dream creation and there are few places that can fulfill your imagination in the Okanagan like Summerhill Pyramid Winery in Kelowna, B.C.

As an Okanagan wedding photographer based in Penticton, I am often asked by brides and grooms to be, to suggest a winery that will host their wedding ceremony and reception. Contrary to popular belief, there are not a lot of wineries that will host weddings, but Summerhill is a brilliant exception.

Located on Lakeshore Drive in Kelowna, Summerhill Winery offers colour saturated views of the vineyards, Okanagan Lake and adjacent farmlands. Sunset photography is spectacular here from the patio.

Summerhill is famous for it’s whitewashed cement pyramid which can house enough people for a small wedding ceremony. The pyramid is also used to keep new wines and give them a spiritual aging. Call it mystique or reality, the wines here are amazing!

Photography on site is, in short, excellent! There are great options near the restored homestead or, for a more futuristic look, you got it – aim for the pyramid! I’ve been the photographer here for numerous events over the years and each time it is unique, believe me.
