Linden Gardens
Picture perfect setting & extra colourful wedding photography.

I don’t know how, but the amazing folks at Linden Gardens, 15 minutes South of Penticton, manage to coax out the ultimate in colour, no matter what the season. I’m florally illiterate but I can tell you that as a wedding photographer, there are few places with so many bright options. No wonder it has become such popular venue for Okanagan weddings.

I used to think that Garden weddings were of the “add water & stir” variety until I chanced upon Linden Gardens. Name a colour and it will be there. Name a shape or a texture – you’ll find it. Black & white photography is brilliant there as well, adding a vintage look. Wedding ceremonies are usually performed outdoors but there is lots of shade during our hot Okanagan summers.

Linden Gardens is in what I’d call a photography and wedding hot spot – In the centre of the South Okanagan, Penticton is just a stone’s throw away while Kelowna is only about an hour by car.

Jump in your car for 15 minutes and I, your photographer, can take you to places nearby that blend foregrounds of pristine desert sagebrush with snow capped mountaintops (in Spring). The Old Stone House in Kaleden, right on Skaha Lake, with its coliseum-like arches, is an unusual yet alluring site for photos.

Head back to Linden Gardens and have one of the Okanagan’s top chefs or caterers serve you local fare at the Frog City Cafe. Local wineries are just down the road, either in Penticton, Oliver, Osoyoos or Naramata if a sipping tour is up your alley.

Ponderosa Point, one of the Okanagan’s few lakeside cabin rental resorts is also in Kaleden and can house family groups or couples set on an Okanagan destination wedding.

I have to say quite humbly, that the backbone of Linden Gardens are its owner/operators, Ken & Margaret Hayter. The long-time local farmers turned “gardeners extraordinaire” are down to earth, light hearted and a pure pleasure to work with. They are great at organizing small or large weddings and have been truly appreciated by all their brides, grooms & family groups.

Do you have any tips for the best ever wedding at Linden Gardens?
